The idea of automating the different tasks within the e-discovery process is appealing.  But what is the best way to forecast the economic impact of such automation, given all the different variables involved?  Historically, many firms have focused on the “soft” benefits: reduced risk, avoidance of penalties and fines, or avoidance of settlement, all of which are difficult to quantify. But in today’s economic environment, even e-discovery initiatives must have a credible business case, with credible “hard” benefits, based on demonstrable metrics, in order to be considered by effectively funded by executive management.  Attendees can expect to learn best practices of how firms have justified their technology spend on e-discovery.

Today's business contents are trapped in disparate content management systems, creating a major barrier for user/application to find, reuse, share, or integrate content. To mitigate this problem, a Web-based interoperability standard, called Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS), is emerging. With a broad participation in its development, CMIS can create a new paradigm and new opportunities for content management.  In this presentation, an overview of CMIS will be given: What problems does it solve?
